TRUCK MECHANICS - BDS SUNSHINE COAST

We currently have permanent positions available for Truck Mechanics to join our team on the Sunshine Coast. This is a full-time position and a perfect opportunity to join a large, secure, reputable company.

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a fast-growing, dynamic company specialising in mechanical, auto-electrical, and welding services - available both on-site and at our fully equipped workshops. With 22 branches across Queensland and a fleet of over 160 field service units, we provide dependable coverage across more than 600,000 km² throughout Queensland and Western Australia. The successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience on trucks and trailers
  • Heavy earthmoving experience a bonus
  • Strong fault finding skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Truck license preferred
  • Extra skills, experience, tickets and licenses will be advantageous

Your duties will include:

  • Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds
  • General Repairs/maintenance works – Trucks & Trailers/4×4's
  • Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
  • Checking vehicle lighting systems
  • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
