Lymphoedema Trained Therapist

About the role

ATS Rehab is seeking a skilled and compassionate Lymphoedema Trained Therapist to join our team. Either occupational therapists or physiotherapists are encouraged to apply.

We have a number of lymphoedema clinics within Brisbane, situated in Chermside, Greenslopes, Springfield and Redland. Location will be determined based on clinic need, and proximity to home.

At ATS Rehab, we pride ourselves in providing expert and individualised care for our patients. Our lymphoedema therapists are highly regarded in their field. ATS rehab has a longstanding, collaborative relationship with Icon Cancer Centre. Our Springfield and Redland locations are located within the respective Icon Cancer Centres, and our lymphoedema therapists play a vital role within the multi-disciplinary, oncological team.

The successful applicant will enjoy a mixed caseload - predominately breast and upper limb cases, as well as lower limb lymphoedema, head and neck lymphoedema, lipoedema, and other vascular conditions.

What you'll be doing

1. Assessing and developing individualised treatment plans for patients with lymphoedema, and other vascular conditions.
2. Using advanced technological devices, such as a SOZO bio-impedence spectroscopy and low level laser, for the assessment, prevention and/or treatment of lymphoedema. In-house training is provided.
3. Providing evidence based, complex physical decongestion techniques to treat lymphoedema, and other vascular conditions.
4. Educating patients and their families on self-management strategies to improve their quality of life.
5. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
6. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
7. Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidenced best practices.

What we're looking for

1. A Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
2. Certification in lymphoedema with an ALA approved training provider. Minimum of one area of specialisation required.
3. Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide personalised, evidence-based treatment
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
5. A genuine passion for improving the lives of those living with lymphoedema and oedema related conditions.

Hourly rate will be commensurate with skill and experience.
