Children's Residential Supervisor - Stewart House (Curl Curl, Sydney)

Due to our current gender balance and the need to supervise showers we are keen to find great applicant for one of our male Supervisor positions. Permanancy given after successful completion of probation period.

About us

Each year 1,600 public school children in need come to Stewart House

from many parts of NSW and the ACT. During their stay, children are

provided with optometric, dental and medical treatment as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and promote a healthier lifestyle. We welcome up to 84 children every fortnight to our site for a 12 day stay.

About the role

Stewart House is seeking skilled children's Supervisors, within the Residential Care Team, working primarily with children aged 7-14 years after and before school, overnight and across weekends inside the NSW public education school terms. Supervisors are responsible for assisting children with self-care, meals, sleeping and enjoying a variety of excursions and activities. Pre qualified Supervisors will work in partnership with another Supervisor.

Private, in-dormitory overnight accommodation is provided while on duty.

Working Hours

Overnights shifts are available starting at 3.15pm, include an overnight stay/sleep, and finish at 9.15am the following morning. Weekend day shifts go from 9:15am to 3:15pm.

Supervisors must be in their 3rd or 4th year of a Health, Education or Child-Related Degree or Teacher Education Program. Advantage for demonstrated experience working with groups of children and/or adolescents

Current first aid qualifications and health screening and vaccination in accordance with Health NSW guidelines (including COVID vaccine)
