AI Agentic Lead – Voice Recognition – Conversational AI

We're seeking a highly skilled Agentic AI Lead with a specialization in voice to lead the design, development, and deployment of voice‑based autonomous agents.

As a lead role, you'll be responsible for pushing the boundaries of voice interaction: ASR (automatic speech recognition), TTS (text‑to‑speech), voice user interfaces, dynamic dialogue orchestration, multi‑agent voice workflows, etc.

You'll combine technical depth, product sensibility, and leadership to build systems that can understand, reason, and act via voice in real‑world, high‑scale settings.

This would be a great role for ayome interested in using a collection set of AI models to achieve multiple different outputs and has experience in building LLM and, SLMs to solve various problems

You could be a Python or a data engineer - but commercial experience in AI driven voice recognition is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and build voice‑agent systems with strong capabilities in speech recognition
  • Design and implement multi‑agent workflows and voice‑based agent orchestration (e.g. agents
  • Integrate voice agents with LLMs, tool‑calling, and external systems (APIs, knowledge bases).
  • Build robust pipelines: ASR, TTS, NLU, dialog management; ensure low latency, high accuracy, and naturalness.
  • Ensure production readiness: reliability, scalability, monitoring, drift detection, bias & fairness in voice systems.
  • Lead R&D and prototyping to explore new frontiers of voice agentic AI (e.g. real‑time voice interaction, persistent conversational memory, situational/contextual awareness).
  • Collaborate closely with product, UX, ML research, engineering, and data teams to define voice agent features and integrate into product roadmap.
  • Mentor and manage a small team of engineers/data scientists working in voice/agentic AI.
  • Define and uphold best practices for voice agent design, ethics, privacy, voice branding, accessibility.
  • Evaluate voice model performance using appropriate metrics (WER, CER, MOS, latency, robustness to noise, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or preferably Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
  • 5‑8+ years experience with voice technologies (ASR, TTS, speech pipelines), NLP/dialogue systems, or voice UI design.
  • Demonstrated experience building AI/ML systems in production, especially with voice or multimodal interaction.
  • Hands‑on experience with LLMs and agent‑frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph, Autogen, or equivalents).
  • Experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, knowledge bases.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python), familiarity with deployment technologies (Docker, cloud services like AWS / GCP / Azure).
  • Familiarity with latency, throughput optimization, memory constraints, real‑time systems.
  • Understanding of voice‑specific challenges (noise, accents, latency, context switching).
  • Strong communication skills; experience working cross‑functionally (product, UX, engineering).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with real‑time voice APIs / SDKs, on‑device ASR/TTS.
  • Background in reinforcement learning, RLHF/RLAIf, or self‑improving agents.
  • Prior work in conversational systems that handle mixed input (voice + text).
  • Published work or patents in voice / agentic / conversational AI.
  • Experience with privacy, safety, and compliance in voice data (GDPR, HIPAA etc. depending on domain).
