About the Company
Our client is a highly respected residential builder with over 20 years in the industry, specialising in high-end extensions, heritage renovations, and custom new builds across Sydney's Inner West, Canterbury-Bankstown, and Canada Bay. With approx. 25 projects currently under construction and 40 in design, they offer end-to-end delivery from concept through to handover.
Led by a hands-on management team, they operate with a tight-knit workforce of around 20-25 staff, including project managers, estimators, site staff, and a growing design team. Their project values typically range between $700K to $1.6M, with standout custom homes reaching over $4M.
The Role
As a Draftsperson, you will report to the Design Manager and play a pivotal role in supporting the full design & drafting lifecycle, from conceptual design through to construction documentation. This role will suit someone with strong Revit skills and a solid background in both drafting and construction knowledge, particularly in residential work.
Key Responsibilities
Draft comprehensive construction documentation including Construction Certificates (CCs)
Assist in design development, contributing from early concept through to technical detailing
Prepare documentation and liaise with councils for DA and CDC submissions
Work across a variety of project types including extensions (80%) and new builds (20%), many involving heritage overlays
Collaborate closely with the Design Manager, construction team, and consultants to deliver projects to specification and code
Maintain quality control over all drawings, ensuring compliance with the NCC, planning controls, and council regulations
Participate in occasional site visits to ensure design intent translates to build outcomes
About You
4
+ years experience
in drafting, ideally with a residential builder or design firm
Advanced
Revit proficiency
is essential (Enscape and AutoCAD experience a bonus)
Strong knowledge of
construction detailing, CC documentation, and DA/CDC processes
Comfortable working in a
fast-paced environment
with multiple projects on the go
Can domonstrate strong knowledge of NCC, CDC, LEP and DCP codes
Strong communication skills - able to liaise with consultants, team members, and council
