Aboriginal Enterprises Australia (AEA) specialise in providing construction and maintenance services to the commercial and residential market in remote areas of the Northern Territory and Western Australia. We are currently seeking experienced Carpenters,to join our projects team in Alice Springs. These roles can either be residential or on a FIFO / DIDO basis depending on the project location.

About the Role

This role is crucial to the execution and delivery of high-quality results for new builds and refurbishments, both locally and in remote locations.

Extensive travel to job sites is part of the fun, adding variety to your working week.  A travel allowance is paid for each night you are required to be away from Alice Springs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Cutting, shaping and assembly of wood and other materials
  • Install fixtures such as cabinets, shelves, and trims
  • Formwork installation if required
  • General construction and maintenance duties, as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • Experienced carpenters with relevant experience
  • Basic computer literacy for daily job and time record submissions
  • Proactive safety focus and willingness to always adhere to safe work practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in remote, diverse environments
  • Cross-cultural awareness
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical and alcohol / drug screen

Essential Qualifications

  • Carpentry qualification
  • White Card
  • Valid Driver's licence
  • Current Working with Children / Ochre Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment)
