Underground Jumbo Operator

We are searching for experienced Jumbo Operators who lead by example and are motivated, hard-working and safety conscious to join Fosterville Gold Mine in this exciting opportunity.

About the role

Location: Fosterville Gold Mine - 30 minutes drive from Bendigo

You will safely and efficiently operate the Jumbo and ancillary equipment to achieve high speed, high standard development. This includes completing ground support installation and face drilling in accordance with the issued plans. This role is also responsible for the training and support of the Nipper.

Duties:

• Pre-start inspection and operation of Sandvik DD422 & DD422i Jumbo
• Safety inspection of work areas and preparation of headings
• Scaling and installation of ground support (MDX, split sets, resin and spiral bolts)
• Ground support installation in accordance with FGM ground support standards.
• Scaling, support and drilling of development faces
• High level of accuracy in mine development including levels, declines, inclines and turnouts
• Achievement of mine design with minimal overbreak
• Demonstrate leadership and provide training to Nipper

The roster is 7:7 rotating - 7 days on/off, 7 nights on/off and 12 hour shifts.

What we are looking for:

• 1+ years Jumbo Operator experience or 3+ years Bogger or Charge-Up experience
• Physically fit and high degree of safety awareness
• Demonstrated leadership qualities including strong communication and work ethic
• Hold a current manual drivers licence
• Australian working rights
