Since its founding in 1982, the company has been at the forefront of Australian mango cultivation and remains a leader in the industry. With a total of seven family-owned mango farms located throughout Northern Australia, Manbulloo holds the title of the largest grower of Kensington Pride mangoes in the nation. Key Responsibilities:

• Compile, measure and report on the impact of sustainable practices across Manbulloo farms and packhouses
• Implement projects and strategies that increase the environmental, social and economic sustainability of Manbulloo farms and packhouses
• Investigate the potential risks and opportunities associated with alternative production techniques with a focus on maximising yield and minimising environmental impact.
• Monitor and investigate the impact of production harvesting and packhouse practices on the Manbulloo farms and wider environment.
• Work with the farm management team to plan, implement and monitor agronomic practices and pests, disease and weed management on Manbulloo farms.
• Develop, implement and review environment management systems for all Manbulloo farms and packhouses to comply with government and customer requirements.
• Provide technical support and train Manbulloo managers and staff in best practices for environmental management.
• Plan and review practices for safe storage, application and disposal of fertilisers and agriculture chemicals to minimise impacts on the environment and worker safety, health and welfare.
• Review the results of crop and pest monitoring activities and develop appropriate action plans.
• Organize sampling and review the results of soil and leaf analysis and plan appropriate nutrition chemicals.
• Revie the results of irrigation monitoring and plan appropriate actions.
• Review the results of flower monitoring and organize the collection of heat sums to assist the Senior Horticulturist to forecast harvesting for Manbulloo farms.
• Review the results of quality monitoring during harvesting, grading and packing to identify areas for improvement in farm management.
• Participate in the design, implementation and review of R&D for farm production and environmental management.
• Compile end of season reports on farm production and environmental management and participate in management team planning and review meetings.
• Keep abreast of innovation and new knowledge in farm production and environment management.
• Understand and comply with Manbulloo Policies and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree: A degree in agronomy, agricultural science, plant science, soil science, or a related field is essential.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as an Agronomist
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data and interpret research results to make informed decisions about crop management.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify issues affecting crop production and develop effective solutions.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with agricultural tools, technologies, and software related to farming and crop management.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to farm managers, stakeholders, and the public.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with farm managers and staff, agricultural scientists, and other stakeholders.

Additional Knowledge

• Understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of pest management, soil health, and crop rotation.
