Grounds Person

Oak Tree Group specializes in providing affordable and secure independent living communities for seniors throughout Australia. Our focus is on building small villages that combine residential and recreational facilities in an environment where residents can form new friendships, be part of a safe community and still live independently.

About the role:

This role is Part-Time at 15 hours per week consisting over 3 days. You will report to the Village Manager & Full-time Grounds person and will be required to provide assistance to the village to create a welcoming, caring, and safe village community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Grounds / Maintenance Role

• Ground maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, trimming/pruning.
• Seasonal spraying, top dressing and fertilizing of lawns (as required).
• General tidying of the village (whipper snipping, hedging, weed control)
• Watering of lawns and gardens as required.
• Disposal of garden waste.
• Pool Management and Cleaning
• Waste management for the village (including garbage and recycle collection).
• Cleaning of waste disposal bins.
• Cleaning of any Village Buses and buggies

Village Maintenance

• Support the planned maintenance schedule for the village i.e pressure cleaning, gutter cleaning, garden mulching as required.
• General repairs and maintenance as required.

Other Duties

• Driving the Village Bus for resident transport and collections from suppliers as required.
• Set up and reconfiguration of the Community Centre to support Oak Tree events.
• Other such irregular duties as may be required to assist the Village Manager in the operations, marketing and sales activities of the village.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is used when required

Minimum role requirement:

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Excellent people and communication skills
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance would be preferred
• Ability to operate light equipment
• Ability to operate tools required for role
• Current driver's License
• Police Check (Can be requested at any time)
