About the Role:We are currently seeking applications from experienced Underground Charge Up/MCU Operators for a role based at George Fisher Mine, Mt. Isa. As the MCU Operator, you will work underground on our customer mine site operating the equipment. An MCU vehicle is used to deliver and load explosive materials into blast holes underground.
Preference will be given to candidates from Townsville, Brisbane or Mount Isa.
What you will be doing:- Operate an advanced underground Mobile Charging Unit equipped with 4D technology;
- Deliver and load explosive materials into blast holes using state-of-the-art automated systems;
- Work directly with our mining customers to achieve optimal blast outcomes;
- Apply your expertise in underground operations while learning innovative blasting techniques;
- Be part of a team that is setting new standards in precision blasting; and
- Contribute to improved safety and efficiency in underground mining operations.
- Previous underground mining experience essential (i.e. Charging or mining operations);
- Heavy rigid (HR/HC) vehicle license essential;
- Previous experience operating an MCU or similar blast product delivery vehicle (desirable);
- Experience with electronic blasting systems (advantageous);
- Strong customer orientation;
- Mechanical trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential;
- A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
- Current QESC security clearance or ability to obtain;
- Able to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol screen.
