Role Description

Remote Full-Time or Fractional Contract for OpenStack & Ceph Engineer. The OpenStack & Ceph Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining OpenStack and Ceph clusters. Daily tasks include troubleshooting and resolving issues, ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals. The engineer will also be responsible for monitoring and optimizing system performance, adhering to best practices in security and compliance, and providing technical support and training to team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience with deploying and maintaining OpenStack clusters including legacy releases Ocata, Queens, Rocky and current releases Zed and Flamingo.
  • Proficiency in working with Ceph storage solutions including legacy releases Jewel and L
    uminos and current releases Reef and Squid.
  • Strong Linux system administration skills
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols
  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform)
  • Familiarity supporting a helpdesk environment and Root Cause Analysis (RCAs)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Current or former Australian government security clearance
