About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the team at Northern Health.

This role requires a therapist with experience in Neuro/ Stroke acute care who is passionate about providing person- centred care.

The Occupational Therapy service at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and committed to evidence-based practice.

We are a team driven by positive patient outcomes and team work.

The NH OT service employs over 100 staff and are consistently striving to provide opportunities to support staff growth and development.

The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist is required to provide quality patient centred care on the Stroke/ Neuro ward.

This is achieved through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, intervention/rehabilitation, and discharge planning.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The ability to assess, plan and implement stroke/ neuro interventions at a grade 3 level of competence.
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Fully registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Eligible for membership with OT Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check VIC
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • A good working knowledge of community services
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
