Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist, available on a full-time or contract basis, to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to children with diverse needs, supporting their development, participation, and independence. This role involves collaborating closely with families, educators, and other health professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional skills.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans tailored to each child's needs, goals, and developmental level.
- Deliver direct therapy sessions in clinic, home, or educational settings using evidence-based approaches (e.g., Sensory Integration, DIR/Floor time).
- Collaborate with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support generalization of skills across environments.
- Monitor and document progress and outcomes, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
- Provide parent and caregiver training, education, and support to empower home-based strategies.
- Contribute to team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with Therapy Point policies and professional standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in paediatric occupational therapy.
- Demonstrated experience with sensory integration, fine and gross motor development, and functional interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
