If so, our Volunteer Campus Pastor Pathway Program could be your next step.

Our Heads of Campus Support team are currently inviting expressions of interest for Volunteer Campus Pastor Pathway Participants at all Hillsong locations across Australia.

This strategic program is designed for individuals who feel called to campus or church leadership and provides a comprehensive journey from volunteer service to becoming a Campus Pastor—incorporating personal mentoring, theological guidance, and practical leadership experience.

About the Program

Participants will:

• Dedicate time to actively serve in weekend services, gaining hands-on experience across various aspects of campus ministry.
• Be mentored by experienced Campus Pastors and church leaders through grow sessions, leadership opportunities, and personal development.
• Receive opportunities for short-term assignments under different Campus Pastors to gain a broad perspective and diverse ministry experience.
• Engage in intentional discipleship and leadership growth, developing the character, skills, and vision required to lead a campus.

Key Development Areas

• Strategic Personal Pathway Design: Collaborate with the Pathway Coordinator to develop a personalised plan, mapping out the steps and milestones toward becoming a Campus Pastor.
• Personal Mentoring: Engage in regular mentoring sessions with experienced Campus Pastors, receiving guidance, support, and feedback on your pastoral journey.
• Leadership Opportunities: Be entrusted with opportunities to lead and serve within your campus, developing ministry, leadership, and people skills in a hands-on environment.
• Theological Qualification Advice: Receive counsel on obtaining necessary theological qualifications, including recommended courses, institutions, and study plans aligned with the Hillsong's doctrine and values.
• Grow Meetings with Campus Leaders: Participate in regular grow meetings with Heads of Campus to discuss progress, share insights, and refine leadership skills.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking individuals who:

• Have a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Are currently involved in church life through leading a Connect Group and/or volunteer team.
• Hold a valid Working With Children Check (or are willing to obtain one).
• Maintain a humble, teachable spirit and eagerness to learn under the guidance of mentors.
• Demonstrate strong alignment with the vision, mission, and values of Hillsong church.
• Show long-term dedication to the pathway process, understanding that becoming a Campus Pastor is a significant, sustained journey of development and service.
