About the role

Milk and Beans', a popular cafe in the heart of Alexandra Headland, Queensland, is seeking an exceptional Head Barista to lead our passionate and dedicated barista team. As the Head Barista, you will be responsible for crafting world-class coffee experiences for our customers, as well as implementing training programs and mentoring our barista staff. This full-time role is an integral part of our customer service and operations, and will play a key role in upholding the high standards that Milk and Beans' is known for.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing and serving a wide range of specialty coffee drinks to the highest standards
  2. Overseeing the daily operations of the coffee bar, ensuring efficient and consistent service

  3. Implementing barista training programs to upskill and motivate the team

  4. Maintaining strict quality control and hygiene standards for all coffee equipment and supplies

  5. Collaborating with the management team to improve customer experience and drive sales
  6. Providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive, customer-centric environment

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a barista in a fast-paced, high-volume cafe environment
  2. Proven track record of leading and training a team of baristas
  3. Exceptional coffee knowledge and the ability to prepare consistently high-quality coffee beverages
  4. Strong customer service orientation and the ability to provide a warm, friendly experience
  5. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a dynamic work environment
  6. A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to continued learning and development
