Teachers at Saint Stephen's College are expected to be experts of their academic disciplines and well-informed classroom practitioners as well as champions of children's learning and development. High levels of enthusiasm and a genuine respect for children underpin these expectations. The main focus is to continuously seek to maximise curriculum delivery to achieve authentic learning outcomes for students through quality teaching, training and coaching, with an emphasis on intentional instruction and blended learning.

Teachers must also demonstrate a commitment to achieving the College's expectations for student wellbeing by supporting students to be their best selves, and to help them become positive contributors to the community both now and in the future. You can register your interest in relief (supply) teaching or short term fixed contracts. After submitting your expression of interest we will only reach out to you should a suitable opportunity arises. Your expression of interested will be retained for that academic calendar year.

Relief teachers cover classes where regular teachers are absent for a short period of time. It is expected that relief teachers always behave in a manner that is professional, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity for effective communication. Relief Teachers must also demonstrate a commitment to achieving best practice in matters relating to student wellbeing, curriculum delivery and feedback.

Your normal duties will also include playground duties, sports supervision, some extracurricular activities, the application of discipline, participation in the school's program of spiritual and pastoral care, and various other duties plus departmental and staff meetings, which may involve you in some out of school hour's activities. You may also be required to teach a variety of subjects and levels if a variation of teaching arrangement occurs.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor of Education or a degree / qualification with a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification
• Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
• Excellent knowledge and experience teaching in primary and secondary years, and a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum, with proven effectiveness benchmarked against the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers;
• Appropriate ICT skills and a preparedness to integrate ICT skills into the learning process through Blended Learning;
• Demonstrated experience, understanding and competence in blended learning with the ability to differentiate teaching programs to enhance student learning in the classroom and beyond;
• Demonstrated ability to work with Online Learning Environments /Learning Management Systems to develop and deliver rich online course resources.

• Carry out other duties as required by the Principal
• Demonstrate, follow and support the policies and procedures of the College
• Maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position
