What you'll be doing…

You'll complete a Certificate III in Stonemasonry over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and hands-on experience.

Our client carries out work on high-end residential properties, luxury commercial developments, and architecturally designed projects. This means you'll be learning your trade on real building sites – no factory or warehouse-based work. Site locations include Sutherland Shire, Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and South Coast work - stretching as far South as Gerringong, Berry and Shell Cove.

As a Stonemasonry Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience working with natural stone on high-end projects, learning the craft alongside skilled tradesmen to develop your technical skills. Your role will include:

  • Working with stone – cutting, shaping, dressing, and preparing it for installation
  • Building and installing – helping create stone walls, paving, cladding, and stunning feature work
  • Learning craftsmanship – mastering traditional and modern stonemasonry techniques under expert guidance
  • Using tools of the trade – from chisels and hammers to grinders, saws, and drills
  • Site preparation & safety – setting up work areas, keeping sites tidy, and following safety procedures

Every day will bring something different – you won't just be watching, you'll be learning by doing on real projects.

To succeed as a Stonemasonry Apprentice, you'll need to be:

  • Punctual and reliable
  • Willing to learn and follow instructions
  • Physically fit and safety minded
  • Respectful with a strong work ethic
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Positive, motivated, and eager to build a career in the trade
  • Capable of handling basic tools (bonus but not essential)
  • Driver's Licence essential - Manual Licence desirable
