About the roleTAFE Gippsland is offering a rare and rewarding opportunity to deliver Certificate II in Horticulture through an on-Country, workplace-based model centred on bushfoods. This role involves working closely with First Nations learners, Elders, and local organisations to provide practical, land-based training deeply rooted in community, culture, and Country.

We're seeking someone with strong horticulture or conservation knowledge, a hands-on mindset, and a passion for supporting learners from underrepresented backgrounds. You'll be confident teaching outdoors, travelling to offsite training locations, and contributing to real-world land management and bushfoods initiatives.

What you'll need

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to enrol and complete within an agreed timeframe)
  • Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture or Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with First Nations communities or learners
  • Strong practical skills in horticulture, bushfoods, or land management
  • Understanding of barriers faced by underrepresented learner cohorts
  • Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and work respectfully with others
  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to travel to on-Country and offsite locations
