About the Centre/Service

Cherry Crescent Preschool acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of whose land we build our community today. We pay our respects to them and their cultures and to elders both past and present. Cherry Crescent Preschool was opened on the 5th August, 1982. Cherry Crescent Preschool has always operated as a Kindergarten, and caters for 3 to 5 year old children. We are a Committee based Kindergarten and our building is owned and is located in The City of Maribyrnong and we are part of their Central Enrolment Scheme. We have maintained long serving Educators, and we strive to achieve that all our families feel welcome, safe, and happy and relaxed in our very friendly environment. Cherry Crescent Preschool is funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and operates under the National Quality Framework. Cherry Crescent Preschool adheres according to the regulations set down by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 (the Regulations) and the National Quality Standard (Schedule 1 of the Regulations). At Cherry Crescent Preschool, we implement an EMERGENT CURRICULUM that reflects the key values and principles of the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Revised Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework We believe that equity, inclusion and diversity underpin the framework. Cherry Crescent Preschool does everything it can to help make children safe. We have a zero tolerance for child abuse.

The position will be 27.5 hours per week over 4 days per week

Description

Cherry Crescent Preschool is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualified educator to join our team of professional and experienced educators. This is a Part Time position. The position will be 27.5 hours over 4 days per week:- Monday 8:15am - 4:30, Tuesday 8:15am - 4:30pm, Wednesday 9:00 - 1:15pm and Thursday 8:15am - 4:30pm (the days are not yet finalised, but the hours are accurate). Our stand-alone Kindergarten provides a high quality education and care for children aged 3-5 years in a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments. Cherry Crescent Preschool is run by a voluntary parent Committee of Management; we offer state-funded 3 and 4 year old kindergarten sessions. The successful applicant will be valued for their ability to work collaboratively with the teacher, family members and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities. Also contribute to kindergarten policies, philosophy and educational programs in a supportive working environment and must be able to fulfill the following essential criteria;

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current 'Working With Children Check' and 'Police Check'
• A commitment to continuous learning, best practice and achieving high quality service delivery and a sound knowledge of the National and Victorian Early Years Frameworks
• Able to build positive relationships with families, children and colleagues
• Be able to work effectively in a team

Qualifications

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate - Level 2 HLTAID012
• Current 'Working With Children Check' and 'Police Check'
• Two referees
• Mandatory Reporting and other obligations for the Early Childhood Sector Certificate
