Huxbaby is one of Australia's premier children's fashion brands and stocked in over 300 stores worldwide - including The Iconic and department stores David Jones, Myer and Bloomingdales in the US.

We are passionate about delivering garments that delight both parents and little ones — and we're looking for a full time Garment Technician to join our growing team.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Work with design to develop initial tech packs for prototypes, then maintain and revise tech packs through sampling, pre‑production, and bulk production
  • Lead fit sessions: measure garments, review fit, construction, and finishes; update m/ment specs for suppliers
  • Communicate daily with offshore factories/suppliers, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with Huxbaby standards
  • Oversee and manage garment compliance & testing, liaising with testing labs, tracking results, and working with factories to rectify any issues
  • Review, comment on, and approve fit samples in collaboration with the design team
  • Apply bulk grading to all bulk specs, and maintain spec libraries / measurement charts

What You'll Bring (Qualifications, Skills & Experience)

Essential:

  • 3–5+ years' experience in a garment technician or similar role (women's or men's wear experience required; children's wear is a plus but not mandatory)
  • In‑depth knowledge of garment construction, technical specifications, fittings, grading, seams, finishes, tolerances
  • Ability to communicate clearly across teams (design, production, suppliers) and with offshore partners
  • Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Excel proficiency (e.g. formulas, data handling)
  • A positive, growth-oriented mindset and willingness to learn/grow with the brand

Desirable / Advantageous (but not mandatory):

  • Experience or knowledge of children's sleepwear / children's compliance & testing
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator (for interpreting sketches, marking up tech drawings)
Why You Should Apply

You'll be a key contributor at the intersection of design and production, ensuring that every garment is technically refined, fit is excellent, and quality is consistent. If you're passionate about garment engineering, enjoy problem-solving, and would thrive working in a dynamic, evolving brand, this role may be for you.
