Wind Technician

We are seeking skilled and reliable Wind Technicians to join our team. The role of the Wind Technician encompasses the installation, mechanical and electrical completions, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines at a wind farm site. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The Wind Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle. The Wind Technician will work closely with crane operators, riggers, and other team members to ensure the safe and efficient installation of wind turbines.

In particular at this time we are seeking a number of people to join our Mechanical Completions Team following an expansion of a current project scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with our electrical completion team to finalise constructed wind turbines
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify proper assembly, alignment, and installation of turbine components.
  • Complete site cleaning and polishing of machinery including painting and chip mending
  • Preparation of turbines for final client presentation and punchlist completion

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Eye for detail
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the client expectations for presentation of our final product

Qualifications:

  • White Card
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working at heights and in confined spaces licences
  • LVR/CPR preferred
  • Mechanical Trades welcome, but not essential
  • GWO training preferred
  • Vestas training Level C and D preferred

Experience:

Wind experience highly regarded
