We are hiring Principal Spatial Administartor for local council in Brisbane to manage their complex day to day and oversee GIS System.

As Principal Spatial Administrator and member of the Enterprise Applications team you will:

  • Oversee, manage and optimise Council's Enterprise GIS and spatial data.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS platforms, web mapping portals, mobile mapping applications, spatial databases, and cloud-based systems.
  • Monitor system health, performance, backups, and security, proactively addressing issues and developing solutions.
  • Take responsibility for the integrity of Council's GIS data repositories and associated metadata, through planning and implementation of spatial data quality and standards utilising appropriate database design, controls and procedures.
  • Provide expert technical advice for GIS matters, acting as a point of contact and escalation for more complex matters as required.
  • Design and execute advanced complex spatial analyses, model scenarios, and provide insightful reports and visualisations as required.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across Council and work in a collaborative team environment to ensure efficient and accurate spatial administration outcomes are achieved.

Requirement

  • Expert knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) and FME.
  • Extensive practical experience with data modelling tools, programming/scripting languages relevant to GIS workflows (e.g., Arcade, Python, SQL).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in spatial data analysis and system administration.
  • Expert understanding of cartographic principles, spatial analysis, and data visualisation techniques.
  • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
