Commercial Maintenance Plumber

The commercial maintenance Plumber is responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services across commercial properties, including installation, maintenance, repair, leak detection, innovative pipe relining technology and upgrade of plumbing systems. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations, Australian Standards, and client requirements while contributing to efficient project delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing faults in commercial buildings (e.g., leaks, blockages, fixtures).
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, valves, pumps, and hot water systems.
  • Perform testing and inspection of backflow prevention devices and thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs).
  • Respond to urgent service calls and provide efficient fault-finding solutions.
  • Be part of the after hours on-call team roster.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with plumbing regulations, building codes, and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Complete required documentation (service reports, compliance certificates, timesheets).
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working order.
  • Uphold high standards of customer service and represent the company professionally on client sites.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skills development.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in commercial maintenance plumbing
  • Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Current WA Plumber's Licence & Gas fitting Licence
  • Knowledge of AS/NZS plumbing standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience commercial maintenance plumbing.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Current manual driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with leak detection and pipe relining technologies (training will be provided).
  • Experience with fire service systems, pumps, and advanced mechanical services.
  • Backflow prevention accreditation.
  • Experience working within occupied commercial environments (schools, hospitals, offices).
  • First Aid/CPR certificate
