About the role:

Reporting to the Director of Geriatric Medicine, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Provide a high quality clinical service and clinical leadership by: providing appropriate specialist level care to patients, coordinating the follow up care of patients
  • Ensure where additional medical problems are identified, referral is made to the appropriate specialist(s)
  • Overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift
  • Ensuring the maintenance of comprehensive clinical records which document significant patient management decisions
  • Supervise junior medical staff as required facilitating and assisting them in the appropriate management of patients

About you:

  • Experience in caring for people with dementia, preferably involved with local and national groups relating to dementia
  • Experience in a variety of settings working with a range of populations including Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Geriatric Medicine
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
