Facade Assurance specialises in the design, analysis, and construction of building facades, focusing on the integration of aesthetics, functionality, structural performance, and sustainability. We collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure facades meet architectural visions while adhering to performance and compliance standards. Our services also include identifying and resolving issues with existing facades to restore safety and functionality while enhancing the original aesthetics. We conduct thorough site surveys and inspections, using advanced tools to diagnose problems and develop tailored solutions that comply with NCC and Australian Standards. To streamline implementation, we provide a complete design package, including technical drawings, material specifications, and performance reports.

As a Facade Engineer, you will be responsible for the independent design, analysis, and delivery of facade systems across commercial and residential projects. This role involves technical design work, site inspections, compliance reporting, and coordination with architects, engineers, and clients. As a key role in establishing the facade division, the Facade Engineer will bring strong technical expertise, compliance knowledge, and a proactive approach to project leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyse facade systems, including curtain walls, balustrades, masonry, cladding, roofing, glazing, aluminium structures
  • Conduct site inspections, facade diagnostics, and compliance assessments
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Lead facade projects independently from design to delivery
  • Attend meetings with consultants and relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to achieve project objectives
  • Ensure all designs and documentation meet NCC, Australian Standards, and best practice guidelines
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes and systems for the facade division

  • Reduction of design or compliance errors identified during peer or external review

Skills and Experience

  • 4-5 years' practical engineering experience in Australia. (NSW preferred)
  • Strong background in facade system design and analysis (curtain walls, balustrades, masonry, cladding, glazing, aluminium structures)
  • Preparation and submission of Performance-Based Design Brief (PBDB) and Performance Solution Reports (PSR)
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools (Strand7, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Read, prepare and interpret wind analysis reports in accordance with AS1170.2
  • Firm understanding of Vertical Termination heights in accordance with AS4654.2.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Knowledge of NCC, F3P , AS4284, AS1170.2, and relevant facade standards
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to facade engineering and building compliance
