Join the vibrant and innovative team at EGS Hobart. In this full-time position based in Hobart Tasmania, you will be responsible for providing efficient and accurate bookkeeping services.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining financial records and accounts payable/receivable
  • Preparing and processing payroll, including the calculation of employee wages, deductions, and tax obligations
  • Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant tax and accounting regulations
  • Liaising with clients to address queries and provide support
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents
  • Continuously improving processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small business or public practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g. Xero)
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficient in data entry, financial reporting, and problem-solving
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally, a relevant qualification or industry certification
