This role

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Financial Operations Manager to take full ownership of the financial operations for our rapidly growing Employer of Record (EOR) division – known as Global Teams (GT). This leader will ensure operational excellence today, while also driving the process improvements and changes necessary to scale for tomorrow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EOR or global payroll operations, and a passion for building efficient processes, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the financial integrity of our EOR service.

This is a band new role that requires a leader who is passionate about designing and implementing scalable processes, and a strategic partner to the Global Teams business. You will manage the GT FinOps team, optimising all financial workflows (from payroll funding to client billing), and enhancing the financial customer experience (CX).

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Building

  • Lead, mentor, and scale the GT FinOps division, including performance management and reviews.
  • Develop and execute the long-term strategy for EOR financial operations, focusing on scalability, efficiency, AI and automation to support hyper-growth.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Partner with the wider finance team to critically review all existing EOR financial workflows, identify bottlenecks, and map out improvements.
  • Actively drive changes and automation projects to enhance efficiency, reduce manual work, and ensure our processes can support future growth.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all key GT FinOps processes.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the EOR lifecycle, including global payroll funding, client billing and invoicing; including review and approval.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness of all EOR financial transactions.
  • Serve as the senior point of escalation for all complex EOR financial and payroll-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Accounting and Reporting teams to ensure integrity of financial records and meeting of compliance deadlines.
  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable team to ensure timely cash collection, including resolving client disputes.

Stakeholder & Customer Experience (CX) Management

  • Partner with senior leadership (including the Head's of Global Teams, Sales, HR, PeopleOps and Product) to ensure FinOps strategy aligns with business objectives.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset, specifically addressing the financial aspects of the customer journey.
  • Analyse and improve the EOR client and employee experience as it relates to payroll, billing, and financial inquiries.
  • Serve as senior escalation point for the team, key business stakeholders, clients and employees

For this role you will also bring

  • CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • A hands-on leader who is comfortable diving into the details to solve problems while also managing the team.
  • Proven experience in financial operations management, including direct people leadership of at least 6+ years.
  • Direct experience in EOR (Employer of Record), PEO, or a complex global payroll environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving process improvements and implementing operational change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of billing, accounts receivable, complex reconciliations, and payroll funding cycles.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech or scale-up environment.
  • Experience with EH and Keypay software highly desirable.
  • Experience working with or supporting Customer Experience (CX) teams in a payroll or billing context.
  • Experience with Zendesk or other helpdesk/ticketing system
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Excel/Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines
  • Possess excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
