We envisage the role being done part-time hours per week) but are open to discussing full-time hours for the right applicant. The role is based in our Unanderra office and travel to worksites will be required. Working in the office is an expectation of the role.
The primary objective of this role is to support the implementation of a strong and sustainable HSEQ culture across multiple projects, primarily (but not solely) supporting our Delivery team. You will coach and support key staff, with the aim of ensuring our business is injury free, environmentally compliant, and meets or exceeds customer requirements.
You will be accountable for embedding and verifying key processes incorporated in our existing integrated management system (Quality, Safety, and Management) to support and maintain our ISO accreditation in each area.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate incident investigations, hazard identification, and risk assessments
- Advise and support leaders to ensure the effective implementation and ongoing operation of the IMS
- Support leaders to effectively manage incidents, investigations, and injuries, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions
- Conduct verification activities of processes associated with high-risk activities
- Support the implementation of new HSEQ initiatives
- Train stakeholders in safety systems and processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement in health and safety performance
- Preparation for ISO re-accreditation of our Integrated Management System.

The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience as a WHS or HSEQ Adviser in civil or commercial construction.
- Diploma or degree qualifications in OHS, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience implementing processes and systems with operational leadership.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the need and steps required for HSEQ compliance, and influence others, without hierarchical authority.
- Superior problem solving skills.
- Self-motivation and personal organisational skills, including time management.
