Team Leader, Youth Development (12 month Contract)

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering engaging programs for youth through work at the Tamworth Regional Youth Centre.  This role will lead and support a number of great initiatives such as the Youth Council as well as implementing our newly adopted Youth Strategy.

COULD THIS BE YOU?

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in leading and mentoring a team in the youth services space. Ability to support a team in a fostering and collaborative learning environment, is essential. We are seeking a proactive, solution focused individual with a good understanding of child development and effective child engagement strategies.

Team Leader, Youth Development is is responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating the Youth Services team to deliver a range of youth development programs and initiatives across the Tamworth region;
  • Coordinating and managing the operations of the TRYC, including championing a collaborative business model to improve integration and coordination of service delivery across the local youth sector to improve outcomes for young people;
  • Participating in interagency and strategic development processes to improve outcomes for young people across the Tamworth Regional Council area;
  • Coordinating the Tamworth Regional Youth Council

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in Youth Services, Social Science or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Driver Licence
  • Working With Children's Check Clearance (WWCC)
  • First Aid – CPR and Anaphylaxis
  • CHCPRT001 - Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk

Salary range: Grade 17 - $98, $106,199.05 per annum plus superannuation, for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
