About the role

Pacific Building Services P/L is seeking an experienced Carpenter/Forman to join our team on a contract basis in Alexandria, NSW. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for the carpentry work on various commercial and residential building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your leadership skills and expertise in the trades industry.

What you'll be doing

  1. Hands on carpentry work, and from time to time other building works as required,
  2. Supervise and coordinate the work with other trades as if required,
  3. Oversee the installation of framing, trim, cabinetry, and other woodwork according to project plans and specifications.
  4. Be able to read, interpreat and impeliment the building plans.
  5. Liaise with project manager, architects, and clients to ensure work meets quality standards
  6. Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions in a timely manner
  7. Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills
  8. Maintain a safe and organised work environment
  9. Ensure all necessary tools, materials, and equipment are available on-site

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience as a Carpenter or Foreman in the construction industry
  2. Supplying your own tools and transport
  3. Strong technical knowledge of carpentry and cabinet making techniques
  4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  6. Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools
  7. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  8. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
