The role

Are you a self-starter who thrives on taking initiative and going the extra mile? Do you have a passion for health, safety, and wellbeing and love engaging with people to make a real difference? If so, this is your opportunity to shine.

As the Safety Advisor you'll provide professional and timely advice on a wide range of safety matters across the business, with the objective of maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. You'll have a strong field-based focus and be the first point of contact for our people in relation to safety practices. You'll also take ownership of coordinating safety training, programs, and initiatives that keep our teams safe and informed.

You'll also draw on your passion for health, safety and wellbeing and experience in engaging people to provide assurance through site inspections and audits in the field, promoting innovative thinking and the continuous improvement of organisational safety and wellbeing practices.

You'll develop and deliver improvements to our focus on safety, in addition to having a pivotal role in our various internal committees along with regular reporting requirements of our safety statistics, including our lead and lag indicators. You'll also use your ability to apply OHS legislation to actively contribute to the cyclical review of OHS policies and procedures and delivering on our strategic objectives.

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in safety
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures
  • Ability to provide first point of contact advice and support
  • Well-developed relationship building skills with a focus on achieving outcomes
  • Ability to positively influence strategic objectives across all organisational levels
  • High attention to detail with strong written and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and coach others in safety practices and processes
