We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate professional to join our dedicated Not-For-Profit organisation, operating within the multi-disciplinary team at The Orange Door,
About the Role
In this role you will deliver high level, safe and effective response to those experience family violence, along with families seeking assistant with the care and wellbeing of children through The Orange Door.
You will conduct risk and needs assessments, utilising established frameworks that require a high level of professional judgement. You will work closely together with other partner organisations within The Orange Door to provide an integrated response for those seeking support.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
As a Hub Practitioner, you will aim to ensure that those experiencing family violence and those who require support with the wellbeing and development of their children are provided with
- Appropriate risk assessment and safety planning
- Presented with options for referrals and resourcing to assist them in making informed choices in regard to their individual situation.
- Facilitate and complete referrals.
- Provide short term supportive counselling.
- Provide a point of contact for secondary consultation, advice and information.
About you
You are a self-motivated, diligent individual who can action tasks independently and have the ability to work positively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Your specialist expertise and experience should include:
- Bachelor or Social Work or the equivalent (min. of a Diploma Community Service)
- An understanding of family violence & it's impact on victim survivors
- An understanding of the principles of empowerment for individuals
- Ability to development and review immediate safety plans with clients
- A client focused approach that facilitates empowerment and independence for victim survivors, and safety and security for service users and their children.
- Knowledge and skills in case management principles and practice
- Ability to undertake considered and comprehensive client safety/risk and homelessness assessments using the required frameworks and information sharing schemes.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with service users, colleagues and other service providers.
- Willingness to participate in the delivery of public awareness / community education activities regarding family violence issues and the community impact of family violence.
- Understanding of, and commitment to maintaining professional practice and boundaries.
- A comprehensive understanding of the complex issues and systems that impact upon women and children who have experienced family violence, including the social, political, emotional, legal, medical and economic contexts.
- An awareness of the key agency stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the principles of gender inequity and feminist theory.

The Mallee Sexual Assault Unit (MSAU) and Mallee Domestic Violence Services (MDVS) provides services for women, men and children throughout the Northern and Southern Mallee region, border communities of New South Wales, the Mallee Track and Shires of Gannawarra and Buloke.
