Axil Chadstone Café Supervisor (Customer Experience Focus)

Axil Coffee Roasters has been at the forefront of Australia's specialty coffee scene since 2011. From our original roastery in Hawthorn, we've expanded to some of Melbourne's most iconic locations, and we're proud to call Australian Barista Champion Jack Simpson part of the Axil team.

After a recent refurbishment Axil Chadstone is looking for a Cafe Supervisor to join the team.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for a hospitality-first professional—someone who understands the grind (literally and figuratively), gets excited about customer service and sees a café as both a sensory and social space.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Full time availability, including one weekend day.
  • Hands-on experience in a high-volume cafe or restaurant setting
  • Motivation to take ownership of the position
  • A keen eye for detail
  • The desire to build and maintain a high-performing and well-rounded team
  • A customer focused approach
  • A desire to continuously learn, grow and progress within the company
  • Be a team player who is happy to jump in and help in other areas of the café as required
  • Experience with training and developing a team
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to service excellence

Your day to day will include:

  • Running 2 shifts a week with a mix of open and closing shifts the rest of the week
  • Greeting guests and taking orders
  • Signing off timesheets
  • Managing stock levels and ordering stock
  • Working to a labour budget
  • Ensuring the cafe remains clean and compliant with regulations
  • Working with the manager to execute processes and standards and continue to build a great work environment

Although experience in Specialty Coffee isn't a requirement, it would definitely help.
