About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter to join our team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, proven experience in fitting and maintenance, and the ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanical fitters to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Assist in Coordinating daily work schedules and allocate tasks to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults.
  • Liaise with Managers and other department Team Leaders to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and timeframes.
  • Contributing to a positive team environment and mentoring apprentices

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
  • Proven experience in a similar leading hand or senior fitter role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Forklift, EWP, and confined space tickets (desirable).
  • Sound computer literacy (Outlook, Word)
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and producing high-quality work
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical (incl. drug & alcohol screening)
