Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy EPC delivering large-scale solar, BESS, and substation projects across Australia. As they expand their in-house engineering capability, they're building a team of technical specialists to support the next phase of their clean energy portfolio.

About the Role

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of high-voltage (HV) and power systems across solar, BESS, and grid-connected infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Technical Lead, you'll be responsible for developing robust electrical designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review LV, MV, and HV electrical designs — including SLDs, schematics, and cable schedules
  • Lead technical studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination
  • Support the integration of solar PV, BESS, and substation infrastructure with grid connection requirements
  • Prepare and review design reports, technical drawings, and equipment specifications
  • Provide design support during procurement, construction, FAT/SAT, and commissioning stages
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence across the team
  • Liaise with clients, utilities, and regulators to resolve design queries and support approvals
  • Contribute to process improvement and standardisation of engineering practices

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree advantageous)
  • 8+ years' experience in HV electrical design for power generation, substations, or renewable energy projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar analysis/design software
  • Knowledge of AS/NZS, IEC, and IEEE standards for HV/LV design
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams
  • Chartered (CPEng/RPEQ) or working towards accreditation
  • Experience with utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects highly regarded

Remuneration

$170,000 – $210,000 base salary plus superannuation.
