The Company
The South Australian Produce Market Limited (SAPML) owns and operates the land which is situated on Burma Road, Pooraka. The Market is the premier fresh produce wholesale market for the state where over 250,000 tonnes of fresh produce with a wholesale value of over $590M is traded between wholesalers, growers and retail operators every year. With an estimated 10,000 individuals accessing the market site each week, market operations are complex, with masses of highly perishable fresh produce passing through each day which is consumed locally, nationally and now internationally.
The Position
Reporting to the Biosecurity and Warehouse Manager, this full-time position will see you managing pallet accounts, reconciling movements, and working closely with our team to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely pallet control processes.
This role has the following key areas of responsibility:
- Manage and record all daily pallet transactions (CHEP and Loscam).
- Reconcile pallet movements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Work closely with trading partners to maintain accurate pallet balances.
- Entering freight forwarding data into system
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Proven experience in pallet control, transport admin, or logistics coordination.
- Chep Yard experience (highly desirable).
- Knowledge and understanding of pallet management.
- Experience using 2IC, CHEP, and SAP (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of operational workflows and procedure.
- High attention to detail with accurate data entry and record keeping.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer use.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Experience reading and understanding manifests and transport paperwork.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 3:00pm.
