We're now seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Transport Compliance / HR Officer to join our close-knit team at our Meadowbrook depot. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected, long-standing company that values professionalism, teamwork and integrity.

About the Role

This is a hands-on and varied role supporting both our transport compliance and human resources functions.

You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Regulations, including Fatigue, Mass, Loading and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements, as well as Occupational Health & Safety standards.

You'll also assist with a range of HR and administrative duties, working closely with our Operations team to ensure everything runs smoothly across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Compliance

  • Maintain and monitor NHVAS accreditation and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate BFM rosters, medicals and training courses
  • Assist with NHVAS audits, ensuring corrective actions are addressed
  • Prepare quarterly compliance reports and maintain up-to-date fleet information
  • Manage new vehicle setups including insurance, tolls, fuel cards and NHVR portal entries
  • Oversee In Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS) and tag allocation
  • Maintain service schedules and process maintenance documentation
  • Monitor logbooks and fatigue management, addressing any breaches and non-conformance reports
  • Record and investigate incidents, accidents and damaged freight
  • Keep customer and contractor portals current and accurate
  • Order uniforms and safety equipment
  • Manage document control registers and compliance documentation

Human Resources

  • Assist with recruitment – job ads, screening, interviews, and reference checks
  • Coordinate induction and onboarding for new employees
  • Maintain online induction platforms and re-training schedules
  • Support performance review processes and timelines
  • Manage subcontractor compliance – licences, insurances, and contracts
  • Coordinate WorkCover claims and related documentation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, or a similar industry
  • Experience in compliance, safety, or HR coordination
  • Strong knowledge of NHVAS and CoR requirements
  • High attention to detail and accuracy across multiple administrative tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional phone manner with the ability to build rapport
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Relevant qualifications in Transport & Logistics or HR (desirable, not essential)
