Driver Trainer – Coach/Bus Industry

About the Role:

Based in Chullora, NSW, but operating out of 5 Sydney depots and regional partnered sites, we are seeking a skilled and motivated driver trainer to join our team in the Coach/Bus industry at NSBC Group. This is a key role focused on the safe, compliant, and professional training of new and existing drivers. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality driver training, assessments, and refresher courses in line with industry and regulatory standards. There will be travel to our depots within Sydney and regionally to fulfill the requirements of the role.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver practical and theoretical driver training for new and current drivers
  • Conduct driver assessments, including onboarding and periodic evaluations
  • Ensure all training aligns with company policies and Transport for NSW regulations
  • Maintain accurate training records and provide feedback to management
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
  • Stay up to date with legislative and operational changes affecting driver performance
  • Liaise with Operations and Compliance teams to address training needs

Requirements:
  • TLIF0005 – Apply a fatigue risk management system
  • TLIF0006 – Administer a fatigue risk management system
  • NSW Driver Authority (current and valid)
  • Minimum of a Medium Rigid (MR) license
  • Demonstrated experience in professional driving and/or driver training in the bus or coach industry
  • Strong understanding of fatigue management, road safety, and public transport regulations
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Availability Monday to Friday during operational hours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate computer skills

Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Previous experience in a training or compliance role
  • Knowledge of Transport for NSW operational standards and accreditation requirements
