Great Northern Logistics Pty Ltd is a locally owned, family-run business operating across Broome and the Kimberley. Our workshop, GN Mechanical & Automotive, is a Repco Authorised Service Centre — we adhere to Repco service standards and have access to genuine parts, technical resources, and ongoing training.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and fully qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join our team. This full-time role involves maintenance, repair and diagnostics across the full range of light vehicles and passenger vehicles serviced by our workshop, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and perform repairs to engines, transmissions, steering and suspension systems.
  • Conduct scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Use diagnostic tools and workshop computer systems to troubleshoot faults.
  • Remove, inspect and replace defective parts and reassemble/test repaired systems.
  • Complete accurate service documentation and communicate repair outcomes to customers and the workshop team.
  • Maintain workshop housekeeping and observe all health & safety procedures.

Required skills & experience (essential)

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR30620) or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years full-time trade experience working as a qualified motor mechanic in a workshop environment.
  • Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills across modern light vehicle systems.
  • Current Australian driver's licence.
  • Own basic mechanic toolset preferred.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality and customer service.
  • Eligible to work in Australia.
