Site Foreman

Business Overview

A-Star Sports Nets is a leading force in Australian sports facility construction, specialising in elite sports netting solutions. We partner with major clubs and organisations across the AFL, NRL, Cricket, Rugby, Soccer, and Golf, as well as prestigious private schools, councils, and commercial projects.

Based in Carrum Downs, Melbourne, and expanding in Sydney, A-Star delivers innovative, high-quality projects shaping the future of Australian sports facilities.

Why This Business Is Different

Unlike residential or general construction, our projects offer purpose and prestige — you'll be part of building elite environments for AFL clubs such as Collingwood, Hawthorn, Carlton, Richmond, Western Bulldogs, and Sydney Swans.

You'll contribute to legacy projects that define Australia's sporting landscape — from AFL to Cricket, NRL, Union, Soccer, Golf, and major council and commercial developments.

Your work will leave a lasting mark on facilities that inspire the next generation of athletes.

Who Thrives in Our Culture

Our team values hard work, fairness, loyalty, care, and accountability.

We treat people with genuine respect and maintain a workplace where professionalism and camaraderie go hand-in-hand.

This role suits someone who:

  • Is an early riser and thrives on structure and routine.
  • Values accountability, discipline, and pride in hard work.
  • Embraces feedback, owns their mistakes, and maintains a growth mindset.
  • Enjoys hands-on leadership, working on-site with energy and consistency.

Your Role as Site Foreman

Reporting directly to the business owner, you'll lead a small on-site team, coordinating daily operations and ensuring every project runs smoothly.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll work alongside your crew while managing quality, safety, and timelines.

You'll be supported by a Project Administrator and Warehouse Manager, allowing you to focus on site performance, efficiency, and outcomes.

You'll liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving.

NOTE: You must be willing and able to travel interstate at short notice and occasionally spend up to a week away, depending on project needs. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & On-Site Execution:

  • Oversee and execute civil and structural works, including bored piers, pad footings, crane lifts, and concrete works.
  • Conduct and manage site set-outs and liaise with surveyors to ensure accuracy.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Troubleshoot issues and implement effective on-site solutions.

Site Management & Safety Compliance:

  • Take full responsibility for on-site safety, ensuring compliance with all SWMs and JSAs.
  • Lead pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Continuously assess project performance, identifying risks, inefficiencies, and improvements.
  • Maintain a high-performance culture across all team operations.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Mentor and train team members to build skill, confidence, and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain an installer skills matrix, including licenses and ticket information.
  • Set and uphold high standards for workmanship, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on process improvements and initiatives.
  • Keep a firm grip on deadlines, productivity, and team output, ensuring every project meets expectations.

Software & Database Management (Field Operations):

  • Ensure proper use of Tradify and other project management tools by all site personnel.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date job entries for efficient tracking and reporting.
  • Use photos, notes, and documentation to support clear project communication and quality assurance.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and subcontractors to align work.
  • Ensure seamless communication between site and office teams.
  • Manage material deliveries, resources, and subcontractors to maintain efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5+ years as a Site Foreman, Supervisor, or similar role in civil or construction.
  • Valid manual driver's licence (required for site travel).
  • Certifications preferred:

  • Certificate in Construction or Civil Construction

  • Excavation/Plant Operator
  • EWP Licence
  • High Risk (above 11m)
  • Forklift Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • White Card
  • Working with Children Check (for school-based projects)
