Senior Data Engineer – 6-Month Contract | Melbourne (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their team on an
initial 6-month contract
, with strong potential for extension. This is a
full-time role based in Melbourne
, offering flexibility with
2–3 days a week in the office
and the remainder remote.

About the Role

You'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining the organisation's data platform, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This position involves:

  • Managing and progressing BAU tasks via the Jira board
  • Coordinating with and providing guidance to the offshore Data Engineering team
  • Monitoring the data support queue and ensuring timely resolution through collaboration and follow-up

About You

You're a proactive data professional who takes ownership of outcomes and thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience with
    SQL, Python/PySpark, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks
  • Solid understanding of
    data platform architecture, data modelling, ETL processes, and data flow management
  • Excellent
    communication skills
    and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and offshore teams
