Mechanical (Gearbox) Fitter

About the role

Join our team at Regal Rexnord as a full-time Mechanical Fitter in our Bennetts Green, NSW workshop. In this hands-on role, you will play a crucial part in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment, contributing to the smooth operation of our manufacturing business.

What you'll be doing

• Perform skilled mechanical fitting work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes
• Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications to carry out fitting and adjustment tasks accurately
• Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose issues with gearboxes, then carry out necessary repairs or replacements
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of equipment
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, to complete complex projects
• Maintain detailed records of work undertaken and report on any identified issues or recommendations for improvement

What we're looking for

• Formal trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, with a minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in industrial machinery maintenance
• Experience in strip, assess and assembly of fixed plant gear reducers
• Can accurately use measuring equipment
• Experience in laser alignment
• Hold a Dogman and forklift ticket
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals
• Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity, with the ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
• Commitment to working safely and following all relevant health and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willing to undertake occasional short term site work
• Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
