About the opportunity

A fast-growing international logistics group is expanding its Australian operations and is seeking a Senior HR Manager / Head of People to support its distribution centre workforce during a critical growth phase.

This is a hands-on, standalone role operating at the intersection of people, operations and industrial relations. You will work closely with site leadership and regional stakeholders, gaining significant exposure to unionised environments and enterprise bargaining, while playing a key role in establishing robust HR foundations as the business scales.

This opportunity will appeal to an experienced HR Manager who thrives in operational settings and is looking to step into a broader, more commercially exposed role within logistics or industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR point of contact for Australian logistics operations
  • Manage day-to-day employee relations, performance management and workforce issues
  • Support union engagement and EBA-related activities, working alongside external advisors where required
  • Implement and embed HR policies, procedures and compliance frameworks locally
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to support workforce planning, change and growth initiatives
  • Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused HR advice in a fast-paced, unionised DC environment

About you

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager / Senior HR Manager in logistics, transport, manufacturing or similarly unionised industries
  • Strong ER capability with practical exposure to unions and EBAs (not necessarily as the lead negotiator)
  • Comfortable operating in a standalone role within an operational business
  • Commercially minded, resilient and confident working alongside operations and leadership teams
