About the role

At Busabout Wagga', we are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. As a full-time Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Bus, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses, ensuring they are safe, reliable and roadworthy.

What you'll be doing

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and body faults on a range of buses
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on our bus fleet
  • Perform inspections and road tests to identify and rectify any issues
  • Document all work performed and maintain detailed records
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of our workshop
  • Comply with all relevant safety standards and regulations

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualifications in Automotive Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related field
  • Extensive experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, preferably within the bus or coach industry
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment
