for School Crossing Supervisors to join our team on a casual basis and play a
crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of young students.
What you'll do:
- Supervise children and pedestrians at children's
crossings and traffic lights during nominated hours on school days - Wear the provided uniform and use the provided
equipment to safely perform the duties of a School Crossing Supervisor - Maintain a high level of awareness, professional
behaviour and conduct at times - Strictly adhere to relevant policies and
procedures including the VicRoads Instructions for Children's Crossing
Supervisors and Banyule's Employee Code of Conduct
What you'll bring - skills, experience:
This is the right role for you if you enjoy working
outdoors, meeting new people, and working short hours.
As a School Crossing Supervisor, you will need to stand/walk
for the duration of your shift whilst carrying the crossing equipment. You'll
be working in all weathers (four seasons in one shift is a possibility) and
it's a must that you will be reliable and punctual to ensure that the crossing
is staffed, and that safety is managed during school times. You will also have:
- A good knowledge of the Victorian Road Rules and
local area in Banyule. - A high level of awareness and an ability to
judge traffic flow. - Be able to work with children specifically and
the wider public in general. - Able to communicate via email, text and phone.
- Travel flexibility to work at any allocated
crossings in Banyule.
Mandatory Pre-employment screenings:

medical - Nationally
Coordinated Criminal History Check - Working
with Children's Check
We offer:
- Hourly rate of $40.97 including casual loading
and industry allowance. - The flexibility
