An exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the team on a fixed term basis.

The Cyber Security Analyst will provide technical security advice and support to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the BPC's information, devices, technology and infrastructure thereby protecting the BPC from emerging cyber threats. This role is expected to collaborate with the Information Technology business unit and with internal and external technology partners and vendors to interpret legislative and policy requirements and provide expert advice on IT security.

What we are looking for

  • Highly developed technical security skills, troubleshooting advanced security issues with enterprise hardware, software and network solutions.
  • Considerable work experience providing expert IT security advice across a wide range of business systems and IT infrastructure; assessing and reporting on information and cyber security vulnerabilities.
  • Highly developed technical skills to monitor, detect and respond to security vulnerabilities, incidents and threats.
  • Proven experience in managing cyber security threats and vulnerabilities for medium to large organisations.

About the BPC

The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing. It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.

Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months.
