Our client is a progressive, family-owned cropping and contract harvesting business operating across 5,500 hectares in Central Queensland. Established in 2011, they specialise in broadacre farming are equipped with cutting-edge technology, including SwarmFarm robotics and John Deere machinery, the enterprise is passionate about team development, structured systems, and maintaining a strong culture of safety and accountability.

The Role

Reporting to the business owners, this hands-on leadership position will oversee the day-to-day operational activities across farming and contract sites. You'll coordinate seasonal cropping and harvesting programs while managing people, equipment and logistics across multiple properties.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and implementing cropping schedules (harvest, planting, spraying)
• Supervising 2–3 permanent staff plus seasonal casuals
• Operating and maintaining modern machinery (tractors, headers, sprayers, robots)
• Overseeing mechanical diagnostics and machinery troubleshooting
• Ensuring safety compliance and leading toolbox meetings
• Using farm apps and systems (e.g. FarmSimple) for job tracking and reporting

About You

You're a proactive and skilled operations leader with a strong mechanical aptitude and broadacre experience. You enjoy working within systems-driven environments and know how to foster a strong team culture through structure and mentoring.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• 3–5+ years' hands-on broadacre experience (harvest, spray, plant)
• An HC or MC truck licence
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and fix machinery breakdowns
• Strong communication and people leadership skills
• Tech competency with mobile apps and recordkeeping
• Willingness to live locally and become part of a close-knit team
• (Desirable: Forklift licence, chem cert, first aid, robotics/earthmoving exp.)
