About the role

The Technical Business Analyst plays a key role in delivering detailed analysis across complex and strategic initiatives. Positioned at the intersection of business operations, delivery, and technology, the role is responsible for eliciting, analysing, and documenting requirements; designing scalable, value-driven technical solutions; and supporting their successful implementation across cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and contribute to business and technical analysis activities for priority initiatives spanning multiple business units or service domains
  • Translate business goals into detailed requirements, business rules, and success metrics guiding solution development
  • Develop detailed business process models, gap analyses, and user stories to inform solution design and change impact assessments
  • Build and maintain relationships with Business Owners, Product Managers, Technical Leads, and other stakeholders to understand priorities and context
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and collaborative design sessions to elicit and validate requirements, process changes, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with technical teams, architects, and delivery partners to design solutions balancing business needs, technical feasibility, and operational impact
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices supporting development, configuration, and testing
  • Analyse current processes and operating models to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation and digitisation
  • Apply process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to assess and optimise workflows
  • Identify data requirements related to business processes, decisions, and reporting to inform solution design and enhance insights
  • Collaborate with data owners, analysts, and platform teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and alignment to enterprise models

Skills and experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a technical focus
  • Detail-oriented and able to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous environments
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver detailed business and technical analysis for complex enterprise solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy
  • Proven experience with enterprise platforms such as Dynamics 365, Power Platform
  • Proficiency in requirements elicitation, process modelling, user story creation, and defining clear acceptance criteria
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate governance forums, and translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant business or technical analysis experience
  • Certifications such as CBAP or Agile BA are desirable
  • Practical experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
