About the role

As an MRI Trainee you will undergo a focused and structured training program supported and guided by the technical team and MRI Training Co-ordinator. The training program is designed to empower and develop MR Technologists into highly competent and proficient members of the PRC workforce.

The MRI training program is condensed into a 2-year training program where you will build both confidence and expertise, emerging as a capable highly skilled MR Technologist.

Your duties will include:

  • Perform and understand fundamental aspects of MRI Radiography
  • Interpret the responses given and adjust scanning parameters accordingly e.g. may need to research whether an implant is MRI safe etc
  • Comply with MRI safety procedures at all times and ensure the safety of patients
  • Recognise abnormalities and demonstrate understanding of pathological processes; applying this knowledge to appropriately answer the clinical question e.g. performing an extra series when required to answer the clinical question
  • Obtain informed consent from the patient for any contrast studies prior to commencement of the scan and possess sound knowledge of pump injector and equipment

About you

  • A minimum of 2 years full-time experience working independently as a qualified Radiographer, with current AHPRA registration
  • Proven ability to manage a varied clinical caseload across general and/or CT modalities (dual training highly desirable)
  • A sound understanding of imaging protocols, patient care, and safety practices in a private or hospital setting
  • Exceptional organisational and critical thinking skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively in a high-performing, multi-site team environment
