Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the MLC Kindle Kitchen Hand is to assist in preparing and implementing a nutritionally and culturally diverse menu for children aged from six weeks to 5 years. To communicate effectively with all College members to ensure high quality in every aspect of Early Learning at MLC. To implement (in conjunction with the Director of MLC Kindle and Team Leaders) all MLC policies through exemplary practice in Early Childhood Education.

As the role is within a school environment you will be working in areas where children and young adults are present. It is your obligation to ensure their safety and to report any concerns that you may have in line with our Child Safe Program – specifically our MLC Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, our MLC Child Safe Codes of Conduct and our Staff and Student Professional Boundaries Policy. You will be required to regularly provide the necessary working with children, police records and reference checks. We have zero tolerance when it comes to abuse of any kind and will take disciplinary action, including termination of employment should we determine that abuse has taken place or there has been a failure to report any suspected abuse.
MLC Kindle is a state-of-the-art facility which has been designed to cater for the needs and interests of children in their early years. The Early Learning Centre operates in conjunction with the Junior School and plays a pivotal role in welcoming families to the College.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
- To assist and support the MLC Kindle Cook with the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Ensure that the regulations for Health and Safety are always met. Engage in routine cleaning of dishes, kitchen, and appliances.
- To be aware at all times of children with allergies at the Centre.
- To engage in professional development and provide information exchange with colleagues to maintain exemplary practice.
- Take on extra tasks as deemed appropriate by the Director of MLC Kindle.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in staff appraisals and peer reviews sessions.
Person Specification Essential Criteria (competencies, qualifications, knowledge and experience)

- – Appropriate qualification and demonstrated expertise in relevant subject areas

- – An ability to work in a positive manner with children aged from 0 – 6 years.
Desirable Criteria (competencies, qualifications, knowledge and experience)
- A certificate in Food Handlers Hygiene for Food Handlers and Supervisors
- Experience working in a similar environment.
Assessment and Compliance MLC performs thorough assessments of potential and existing employees. The assessments will be used to ascertain whether the potential or existing employee is a fit and proper person to be trusted to work in a school environment and in the position applied for or held. The screening process includes, but is not limited to, Criminal Records Checks and Working with Children Checks.
